Uploading Past Cases

We recommend uploading previous complaint data into Companion, as this helps build a fuller picture of complaint trends, patterns and activity across your school over time.

You can either send your files directly to support@educationcompanion.com or follow the steps below to upload them yourself.

How to upload past cases

Complaint data must be uploaded into Companion as ZIP files. Files can include any document type such as Word documents, PDFs and emails, and should ideally include the original complaint, acknowledgement and resolution communications, any interview notes or findings, and the final outcome decision.

Step 1: Compress files into a ZIP file

  • Select all the documents you would like to include within the case. If the files are already stored within one folder, click the first document, hold down Shift, and then click the last document to select everything in between.
  • Once selected, right-click on any of the selected files / folders, choose Compress to, and then select ZIP folder

If uploading multiple cases together, create a separate folder for each case first, then add all folders into one ZIP file

Step 2: Upload to Companion

  • Log into Companion and head to the Cases tab on the left-hand side
  • Select Upload Cases in the top right-hand corner, then drag and drop the ZIP file into the upload area

Please note, once files have been uploaded or sent to us, it can take up to 2 working days for our team to validate the data. You will receive an email confirmation once this has been completed.
